This is a tough one and why I now understand fully what the Father was saying when he wrote “Seek me early” in Proverbs chapter 8 verse 17.
One of the aspects of this reasoning I believe, was the earlier you seek me earnestly in all things and all ways the less garbage of the world will enter your mind, your emotions, your reasoning and your thinking from the world and more of Him will be inside you; leaving a lot less room for doubt, anger, mistrust and all the other emotions we let get between our Majestic King and ourselves.
A bit harsh? Maybe. A bit true? Definitely I suspect. How many times have we had something to deal with, and our first response is what do I think of this?” Now if our minds are clouded with what we know, what we have experienced in life, what we have learned at school or tech or university, we usually have not given our Master His place in this equation have we?
So, we filter answers or outcomes by what we know and at the end of the process we might sit and think, “Oh I wonder if God has any opinion on this?” I wonder if it is smarter to look at the circumstance, and say “What do you reckon Father?”
I have been teaching myself to start my day with “You first Father in all things, Forgive my sin and forgive my unbelief.” This does not mean I don’t believe, this means as my walk goes on I see more and more that we as believers should be doing and asking myself, “Can I do that?” Wow, yes I can!
I need to focus on my relationship with ABBA Father more. Make more and more room in my being for Him and WOW yes, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
If we leave finding Him to later in life our minds, emotions, intellect and reasoning are full of what the world would want us to know and have. There is also the opposition to His throne that also wants to fill our minds with gunk, anything to squeeze out the Holy Spirit.
So, as you begin your walk or you are halfway through, then think about choices you make, thoughts you have, thoughts you entertain and ask yourself “Is Jesus happy with my mind?”
Jesus said, Do not listen to this worlds wisdom and ways for your life, I am the way the truth and the life. Absorb Him, Entertain Him, Talk with Him, bask in His spirit and the things of earth will grow strangely, yet pleasingly dim.
Rom 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.
